It's been a little while since I've had a chance to post on the blog cause it's been busy for us at 4th Dimension!  Over the years we've prided our company on specializing in camera movement, (Jibs, Dollies, Cranes, Hood mounts, Hostess Trays etc.) getting the shots that no one else can or thinks of.  We were the first to bring steadicam to the Jacksonville market, as well as the one and only in the world, robotic camera truck arm.

Well we've been working on another first over here...

A work in progress for a combined six years.  I'm very excited to say that we will announce our new camera movement platform by July 1st.  I can't say what it is just yet, but we are more excited about this then anything else we've done.

"Think Big! We Are!"

So we just finished up a really cool shoot for Roush Mustangs and Gary Yeomans Ford.  It was actually alot of fun, we brought in one of our stunt car drivers from Disney and shot x4 roush mustangs and x1 mustang gt burning it up!  This is the first of several spots that will air nationally on the speed channel.  Advertising about Gary Yeomans Fords achievement as being named the #1 Roush Headquaters in the country. Were planning on pulling a cool color grade with the footage and adding many extras with soundtrack, sfx etc.  I had to give you a sneek peak though since I haven't had a chance to post lately.

We took delivery of our Red and all of the parts are finally here.  We are still waiting on the red drive but we are currently shooting off the CF card module.  So we can still shoot.  The drive should be here in about another week.  All I can say write now is WOW!  The quality of this camera far exceeds what we had anticipated.  It truly is a precision piece of equipment, and it is very HEAVY!

We are very excited to start posting some of the test shots, and upcoming projects.  Which we will do soon.

I promised some pics and only had time to take one, but I ran it into our photography studio and took you a shot, so check it out.  

Well we got most of the stuff in on the RED, and are still waiting on a few of the items that allows us to start shooting with it.  So needless to say I haven't posted any of the shots yet.  We are suppose to have all the remaining items in by no later than next week, So I will post then.  

 It's  the LONGEST TWO WEEKS of my life!  ;)

Until then check out the cool project we did over at the Coach Distribution Center last weekend.  My wife obviously was the most excited. ;)  We were hired by Star Services to document this amazing project.  Star Services was the contractor and was responsible for upgrading Coach's HVAC system.  They had to airlift 27 HVAC systems and replace with new ones, all in one day. (Talk about heavy lifting!)   It actually was pretty difficult to get the shots we did.  The helicopter was brought in from Atlanta, and in some areas we experienced hurricane force winds.  We had to bring one of our key grips in from orlando to help on the project with rigging the time lapse cameras, as they can't move during a 6 hour time lapse.

We planned for it to take 6hrs.  but it actually only took them about 4.  I am still amazed they could do it in a day, much less 4hrs.  It was a great success and congrats to the guys over at Star Services for pulling off this amazing feat, and thanks for letting us be a part of it!

Well for those of you who may have guessed, my favorite color is RED!  

 Tomorrow we take delivery of our LONG awaited RED Camera ;) We are very excited about where this will take 4th Dimension.  

What Does This Mean For Our Clients? 

We are now able to shoot in 4k progressive which is about 10-12 times the resolution of 1080 HD, 12bit digital RAW this is lossless technology at up to 120 frames a second on a Huge Super 35mm cine sized sensor.  Major Hollywood studios have already adapted to the RED technology and some of this years best feature films are all being shot all on RED such as:

1. Jumper

2. Knowing (with Nicholas Cage)

3. Angels and Demons (Tom Hanks & Ron Howard)

4. My Bloody Valentine 3D 

5. Southland (New action packed TV series starting 04-09-09) 

6. Labor Pains (Lindsay Lohan) 

Just to name a few the list actually goes on and on.  Major Hollywood directors have also backed the Red, such as.

1. Steven Soderbergh ( Director of Ocean's Eleven, Tweleve, and Thirteen, Traffic, Erin Brockovich, Guerilla, and more. 

2. Doug Liman (Director of The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Swingers. 

3. Peter Jackson (Director of King Kong, Lord of The Rings Series)

4. Tony Richmond (Director of Legally Blonde, Employee of the month, & Good Luck Club. 

 Over the period of the next couple of weeks we will start posting new demos, and promos produced all on the RED, and will start sending new features with our email marketing campaign.  So if your not signed up you don't want to miss what's coming! 

In the process of purchasing the RED we also updated several other areas of our facility as well.
